Ring One: An eleven year old girl who does not throw anything (I mean ANYTHING) away.
Ring Two: A 9 year old boy who brings home 50 pages, crumbled up from his desk, in his backpack.
Round One:
Mom: Iris, please clean your room and throw out what you don't use anymore or make a pile of things we can give away to a girl that needs them.
Iris: Ok Mom.
Round Two:
Mom: Isaac, could you please put your clothes away after I have carefully and thoughtfully washed and folded them?
Isaac: What? I hate cleaning. I hate picking up! Why do I always have to do chores.
Round Three:
Mom: Iris, please clean your room and throw out what you don't use anymore or make a pile of things we can give away to a girl that needs them.
Iris: Ok Mom.
Round Four:
Mom: Isaac, could you please put your clothes away after I have carefully and thoughtfully washed and folded them?
Isaac: What? I hate cleaning. I hate picking up! Why do I always have to do chores.
Winner: MOM AND DAD and knowing that when they have a place of their own, they can live as they please! Until then, we set the rules and we smile as we continue to tell them the same thing over and over.
Lord, please give me patience towards my children and their cleaning habits. Please Lord, please let them understand that cleanliness is Godliness.
Thank you Lord,
Amen
