Happy Holidays from the Bannings in Reno!
We are gearing up for the first REAL BIG snow storm of the year. Beginning Friday, lots of white stuff coming our way! Bring it on! I love the snow, but my mother knows me to well. I love the first snow fall of the season. By the fourth, I am ready for it to be over. I love the first flakes that fall. I love waking up to a silent community covered in white. I like bundling up the children and myself and sludging through the snow in our boots as we walk to school. The fourth snow fall....I am tired of shoveling, I am tired of hitting 4-wheel drive, I am tired of seeing the melting snow...I want my flowers back!
The children are already dreaming of sugar plumbs and reindeer hooves on the roof. The Christmas fever is in the air as well as our home. The decorations are up with pretty white lights. Some presents are already under the tree. I wonder what Santa Clause will bring? However, the reason for the season, is the most important celebration of all in our home! Our Lord and Savior, Christ flows throughout our hearts within these walls.
I am currently taking TWO classes right now. It is CRAZY! In order for our group to graduate MAY 9TH 2009, this must happen. Student teaching, for me, begins Feb. 24th. I will be doing my internship at Legacy Christian Elementary School for 21 third graders. I am really blessed and excited. I was meeting with the College Chair this evening and I literally cannot believe it is HAPPENING! I have worked so hard to get where I am at. WOW! I owe it all to God. If I can just pass the Praxis I MATH TEST! 4th time is a charm right? UGH!
Don is looking forward to 11 days off at Christmas! His company is shutting down for the holidays! YAY Hood Machine! Thanks Hood Machine! The Banning Family LOVES YA! He works so hard and provides so well for this family. We love him dearly.
So, on that note...I have returned from class #1 this week (tomorrow is class #2). I am grateful that I have two weeks off in one week! YAY UOP! I am snuggled onto the couch winding down and turning on a movie until my eye lids get heavy.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
