I'm gonna climb that mountain!

I believe there is a song, by Reba McIntyre, called that, isn't there? Yes, I listen to Country music now and then. Toby Keith, Reba, George, Clint - four of my faves. Anyway, I defeated that mountain and it was brutal.

My walking buddy, Sharon and I, were out walking today. We decided to go out behind our community into the BLM (back 40 thousand or so acres, of high desert.) As we were walking, I noticed something large and white in the bush about 1/2 way up a mountain. Sharon looked at me and said, let's find out. We started up the trail. The trail was forged by atv's and bikers, who ride these hills. We reached the spot of the white figure and it was a large white board. Sharon looked up the mountain and back at me. "Lindsie, we are 1/2 way up, let's take this mountain!" Up we went. I even ran some of it. YES, I did! YEAH ME! Go Lindsie, Go Lindsie! "Laughing"

The last stretch of the mountain was brutal. We had to stop two times, but ya know what, WE MADE IT! I turned around and looked down. OMG - my house looked like it belonged in one of those architectural designs that Mr. Brady used to make for his business in The Brady Bunch! It was tiny! I know my house was down there somewhere.

Then, I looked up towards the horizon - OMGoodness! The view! Breathtakingly beautiful! I pulled out my phone and snapped away. Not that I have to take photos of these mountains. I see them all of the time through my upstair windows. But this view, oh this view - It was what God sees all of the time! His creation! Took my breath away.

So, Sharon and I cheered, cooled off, and started down the mountain. The hill was steep, and I was a little worried that I would fall. Ya know, hitting 40 yrs old, I start to worry about my bones, ya know? Anyway, we did great, and do did the dogs.

We made it home, drank tons of water, and agreed that we would take that mountain at least two times a week. The weather was perfect. I would not and probably will not take that mountain in the summer heat, unless it was early am.

So proud of me! Give me ANY mountain God and I will climb it. I have climbed many mountains in my life and You have moved some for me too. Thank YOU FATHER!

Ugh...and now the blog is being a pest and not letting me post my pics...I will figure it out.
