Don has recovered from his horrific surgery. A little portion of his neck and earlobe are still numb, but the tumor is out and he is smiling more than ever. His sense of humor has gotten better, but he still goes to bed WAY TO EARLY for me. I guess that is what happens when one gets old. Not me....I am a creature of the night...I come alive at night. I am grateful that I do not need alot of sleep.
Thanksgiving was beautiful in our house. We chose not to travel anywhere this year and the four of us ate Prime Rib, with all the fixin's, watched football, and just had good ol' family fun.
The children are in their second quarter of Middle School and doing really well. I was worried about Isaac because being in Middle School in the 5th grade and changing classes is a big step for a 10 year old boy. He transitioned extremely well.
Iris has taken up beading. Some of my friends, as well as hers, have seen her work and have started comminssioning her for gifts. She is making money! YEAH! My baby girl is stashing the moula away. The Father/Daughter dance is in a couple of days. Iris and I went out and found the perfect dress, matching shoes and purse. She will be the Bell of the ball!
As for me, I am plugging away at being a wife, mother, and friend to all involved. I am always making new friends and finding old ones of which fond memories stay forever etched in my mind.
The house is filled with decorations and presents are under the tree. The children come home, each day, to count them...to see if another one has been added. The magic of Christmas is in their hearts still and I pray it never leaves. The house is lit up at night with homemade wreathes, garland, and lights. If I was in space, I bet I could spot it. It is beautiful! My husband created the vision I dreamed of.
Let the Holiday of our Lord commence...
