Raise and Promotion? WOW!

Well, it happened. Don's company was bought (his former boss retired and allowed buy out from a great Japanese company) out! He was Fired and Hired in the same meeting...Strange, but it did happen.

My husband is now Purchasing Manager of Hood Machine-EIC (Ebara International Corp.) He did receive a promotion and a raise.

I am very very proud of him, but humbled at the same time. With the economy today and seeing family, friends, and neighbors in hurt, I lift my hands to God with praise but why? We were actually doing alright. We fought hard to keep our house and overcame it. Yes, it was rough for awhile, but we came out on top. Is it because God allowed us and it was His desire? I can only hope and praise Him for it. Thank you Father!

As I give praise, I turn right around and pray for those who are needy. The children and I went to the store the other day and this young man came to us asking for change. I literally did not have anything, but when we came out of the store, I remembered we had an extra hamburger in the truck. I quickly ran over to him and gave it to him. As we were driving out of the parking lot, I saw him hungrily eating it. I teared up. Iris saw me and then looked at him. She silently cried. We prayed aloud, the three of us. The very next weekend, Don was with us, and the same young man came to us asking for change. Don looked at me, I nodded (as it WAS the same young man), and Don gave him everything he had on him. I was pleased and joyous, yet humbled and saddened. I prayed silently in my heart for this young man and I know Christ will take him and make him great!

As I praise Christ for His blessings upon us, I am humbled when I see my fellow human brothers and sisters struggling. Lord, hear our prayers. Rise UP and help us!

In Christ,

Lindsie
